The TCC-EZ® Total Contact Cast System is an easy-to-use system that supports patient offloading compliance.

TCC-EZ is a specialized offloading device designed to provide a protective wound healing environment.

The TCC-EZ is indicated for non-infected wounds with adequate blood supply:

• Non-infected neuropathic foot ulcers without involvement of deeper structures (tendon, joint capsule or exposed bone)
• Post-operative care (i.e.: Charcot reconstruction, delayed primary closures)
• Charcot Neuroarthropathy
• Pre-ulcerative conditions

Important Safety Information

Indications for Use

• Non-infected neuropathic foot ulcers without involvement of deeper structures (tendon, joint capsule or exposed bone)
• Post-operative care (i.e.: Charcot reconstruction, delayed primary closures)
• Charcot Neuroarthropathy
• Pre-ulcerative conditions

The TCC-EZ is intended to be used in patients that are not infected and have adequate blood supply to the involved foot, in conjunction with standard wound care regimens.

Contraindications

The TCC-EZ is contraindicated for use in:

• Ulcers that have signs of clinical infection
• Neuropathic foot ulcers with involvement or exposure of deeper structures (tendon, joint capsule, or bone)
• Ulcers that are deeper than they are in width
• Patients with vascular status not adequate for healing
• Patients with allergies to cast components
• Patient's foot exceeds boot size
• Patient's calf exceeds size limit
• Foot deformity not accommodated by outer boot

Warnings

• Application of the TCC-EZ casting system must not be performed without a primary hydrophilic foam dressing, which must be ordered separately from this kit.
• The TCC-EZ should be recommended and supervised by a physician or licensed healthcare provider.
• If the vascular status is not adequate for healing, or the wound is infected or involves deeper structures, do not apply the TCC-EZ. Infection must be ruled out before treatment. Inappropriate use or improper removal could result in serious injury and/or potential loss of limb.

Remove the TCC-EZ and reassess the patient before reapplication if:

• The cast is "loose", "rubbing" or "pistoning (sliding)"
• The cast is causing pain
• The patient develops fever, chills, nausea, or vomiting
• The cast gets wet
• The patient or provider has other cause for concern, such as claustrophobia

Precautions

• Restricted to sale by or on the order of a physician or licensed practitioner.
• See instructions for appropriate application and removal.
• Provide the patient with the Emergency Removal Instruction Card. The cast is only padded along the tibial crest, over the dorsum of the foot, on the malleoli and over the toes — the only safe places to cut with a saw.
• Keep casts oriented at all times as indicated by the arrow on the case.
